Information about special services held at St Brelade's Church

Weddings :

If you are thinking of coming to St Brelade's Church for your wedding, we hope the following information will help you plan your big day.

PLEASE NOTE: Jersey Ecclesiastical Law does not allow marriage of non-residents in any of the Anglican churches in the island, unless you have a clear, demonstrable connection with that church . However, we are happy to offer non-residents a blessing following a civil ceremony.

There are usually 2 interviews prior to the wedding which will also give you an opportunity to ask any questions and be assured that all the arrangements for the day will run smoothly. If you do not live in the Parish, a Dean's Licence will be required which will be organised for you at your first interview.

Under Jersey Law we require the full name and maiden name of the mothers of the bride & groom. We also require copies of your birth certificates.

A deposit of £50 GBP is required to secure your booking, which will be deducted from your final bill. This is NON refundable in case of cancellation.

Baptisms :

Baptisms usually take place on Sunday afternoons and your first contact will be the Rectory by telephone ( (01534) 742302) where confirmation of dates and times will be available. A form will then be sent to you to complete and return giving details of Godparents etc.
